Vik Muniz--Charcoal Inspiration
Muniz inspires me because of the real life objects with the splash of creativity. I love that the charcoal drawing is a castle but is actually a sand castle and the plane has signs from different places of the world. I love the balance in his pieces that really unify his pieces. I love the color that he uses in the picture of the plane and the great lines in the sand castle charcoal drawing. His approach to his art pays attention to detail and I want to strive to express more detail and take the time to bring out more texture in my drawings.

My artist inspiration for my ink project is Chen Shaoxiong. This artist inspires me because I love doing washes with my ink and for my project I am doing a person. The cast shadows that bring value to the woman, really emphasize the light and the dark. I'd like to do the same in my project and if it doesn't work or I end up not doing so in my project I feel as if I can relate to this drawing and I like his style in other ink drawings of his. Soo Kim--Watercolor Inspiration
My artist inspiration for watercolor portraits is Soo Kim. I found her work inspirational because her style inspires me to add creativity and drama into the portrait I am painting with watercolor. However, one of her pieces that caught my eye is very simple. One of the portraits I will be painting has many cast shadows and I appreciate how she made the eyes darker and her face lighter. I hope to show expression in my watercolor portrait by showing these cast shadows and using creative detail, similar to Soo Kim.

Jake Muirhead--Dry Point Etching Artist Inspiration
Jake Muirhead is an Associate Printmaker at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. Muirhead is my dry point etching artist inspiration because of the use of line he uses in order to create value. instead of drawing a harsh line and then adding in value, he creates the value with the lines. Some of his darkest moments are not in the center of the piece, but on one side. In my etching project, there are very dark moments that unify the piece from around the center, rather than my center front ground being my darkest value.
